Previewing Homes for your Buyers with Google Picasa
Do you serve out of state buyers? I serve clients that are from out of state or even from another country. Lately, there have been some occasions when my buyers are interested in a home that I've sent them where there is only "one" picture or pictures in the Multiple Listing that are very poorly taken.
You may say that the home is "bank owned" or in "foreclosure" - no extra photos are necessary, too much work. Please take the time to add additional photos and upload it into the MLS. Did you know that buyers skip right over a property if it has only one picture - you don't want to miss out on a sale?
When I go out and preview homes for my buyers, I take tons of pictures for my buyers to see the true condition of a home - inside, outside, garage, neighborhood all. A great web site for uploading and hosting your web albums online for private and business is Google's Picasa. If you don't have a Google account, please sign up for your free .
You can also create documents, readers, calendars, video, and Google analytics just to name a few..... my topic today is Google's Picasa. After you created an account and downloaded the Picasa's application on your computer, you want to upload the pictures of the home
from you camera to your computer to Picasa's Web Albums for your buyer to preview. Create an Album with the address of the home for example, you can edit and rearrange the pictures, comment on each picture and click on "Share", which sends an invitation for viewing to your buyer - your buyer will love it even if they don't buy this particular home. I'm sure they will be impressed by your service.

Why don't you give it a try, it is well worth your time!

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware that Picasa also does mapping.
Martin - That is correct and thanks for noticing it on my screenshot, although I did not mention it.
very cool what a great idea..the only problem is there are so many great things on the internet...that I spend all my time on the computer..sitting on my rump.. :)
Konnie - You right about that there is so many great things on the internet. However, this particular application saves me a lot of time and I don't have to email all those pictures to my buyers.
Hi Petra...Great Post, I usually have 30 plus or minus photos, for my listings or MLS allows yp to 20, I load the rest on my web sites. Points2 sites allow a large number of photos for their profession web site, but you need to re size them or it's slow. Google Pictures do not need to be re-sized, just create an album and up load your photos from your Computer or Camera, Copy the Link and put it on your MLS listing or web site and email the photos to Buyers.
Cheers, thanks for sharing !
Petra, I use Picasa, it is a great program, I take 50-100 of a home, upload into the computer in about 2 minutes and email in out. you can also turn it into a movie in a matters of minutes and make it look great. Thanks for sharing, I need to check out hte mapping feature.
Petra - Great idea. We use Google Picasa to quickly locate photos on our computer but had not thought of using it in a listing presentation or with buyers. We have used the movie and collage features. Thanks for the info!
Fred - Thanks, the MLS only allows 10 pictures, however there are agents out that only upload one photo. Point2 sometimes is freezing up, especially when I have my Norton's anti-virus running. I found that Google's Picasa runs a lot faster and smoother, plus it allows you to do so many other things that are mentioned here. I have not tried to copy the link to my MLS - I have to give it a try. Thanks for the tip!
Keith - I appreciate you stopping by and provide us with some additional info
Bruce & Mary - It is a great tool
My wife has Picasa on her computer. I will have to check it out and see out it works out.
Hey Petra! Way to go with this post. Picasa and any other tool that's Google Connected is definitely worth a look see! Whatever it takes to get our SEO rankings up, right!
Love the ease of use factor with this tool, as well!
