Living in Lakeland, Fl has its perks.  Not only do we live near major attractions such as Disney, Sea World, Universal Studios, or Bush Gardens, heading to the beach is only a short distance away.  I am not a beach bum by all means, in fact you hardly see me laying by the beach.  However, I do love to go out boating and cruise around near Tampa Bay or take a sun set excursion on a sailboat.  Here in Florida we have beautiful sunsets, and recently my husband and I took a sunset cruise with friends on "The Calypsa".

If you have ever watched movies like "Captain Ron" & "50 First Dates".  You can sail away from Port Charlotte, FL and take a sun set excursion on, "The Calypsa".

Such a trip is very refreshing to me, it feels like a mini vacation although we were only gone for the day.  Being on this vessel sitting on the deck, talking with friends, the ship's Captain and just watch the waves is inspiring as I reflect of whatever thoughts cross my mind. Setting sail and watch as the wind gives the "Calypsa" its speed as the boat smoothly glides the ocean water slapping each side.

We had a lot of fun, because I could not put my camera or my iPhone away taking pictures or shooting a movie. I want to share some of the shots I took and hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them.

I lived in Jacksonville and Keywest but judging by the pics I would have loved to make it to Lakeland.
