Where have all my Subscribers gone?
I really love to reciprocate, especially here on Active Rain where I receive the most feedback and support on a business and personal level. Not that my readers have unsubscribed my blog, they are not blogging any more or have been writing posts less and less. Is blogging for them too time consuming or have they lost their touch about blogging?
Sometimes I go to my subscribers list and see what they have been writing about and show them support by commenting on their blog. What I have noticed today is that quite a few of them have not blogged in like three to six months. I know business has picked up, but still, you do need to blog regularly to keep your readers coming back and give your readers the information you want to share with future buyers and sellers.
Today, smart buyers and sellers make contact with Realtors® after they have done some of their own research on the internet about you. The connection will be much easier established, if a potential customer is informed about you, they want to see “who you really are”. If they can’t find you just by “googleing” your name, how can they make the connection?
Start to connect with your readers by writing great articles; it will be well worth your time and effort. I’d rather have my buyers and sellers know me before I get to know them. Half the battle is won and business will be forthcoming!

Did you know that when one clicks onto your blog it tries to install a Flash player?
Vickie, did it say that it needed a flash player or try to install? Anytime a website has flash and you don't, it will ask if you'd like to install it, not just for Petra's blog.
Hey Petra, great post. It is important to stay in front of the consumer and nowadays, the consumer is on the Internet. I think what you may be seeing to a certain extent is blog burnout. I've noticed that some people really get into blogging and go at it full steam for a few months, then hit a burnout stage, where it just becomes "old" or maybe they think they've run out of these to blog about. I learned early that you can always find something to say (hey, we are Realtors, after all!)
Vickie - Thanks for pointing this out to me. I did click on to my blog and I did not notice it. I'll keep an eye on it.
Roger - Kudos for explaining it to Vickie, I had no clue. I do understand that there is a bloggers burn out and sometimes you have to step away just to get re-energized; as long as you come back and stay on your business blogging plan.
Love your ribbon! I'm subscribing...
I've noticed many of my subscribers have been being lazy as well... they'll get going again soon, I hope.
Petra, I've noticed folks who aren't active anymore also. I've been in a bit of a hiatus due to a trip and a class - a couple of weeks - but I'm back in the saddle. There's way too much great stuff here to fade away! Too many great people also! But I noticed in the last couple of weeks my place # in FL didn't go down...and that gave me pause also to wonder what everyone's doing!
You Got Me Babe :O))
Petra, have a great weekend and Sell lots of homes again.
Wow, did I have to comment after Fred LOL ...his graphic is really cute :) I know I have been blogging less only because I don't have an assistant anymore, and no one is doing floor time, so my responsibilities are tripled. You raised a good point though, blogging needs to be consistent.
My Broker keeps telling me the same thing...I guess I need to listen more!
Petra - I don't mind my subscribers not being that active. It gives me a fighting chance to pass them!
Cindi - Thank you, I appreciate all my subscribers
Donna - I hope so too, it is for their own benefit.
Frank & Sharon - Great stuff, great place to be blogging, Welcome back!
Fred - I've got you babe LOL
Kathy - I've noticed with my subscribers, some of them are newbies, they wrote one or two blogs in the last six month and that's it. I'm on my own that is the reason I can generate about 14 blog post a month, that is okay for me as long as I'm doing it consistently.
Vern - Your broker is giving you great advise, be consistent.
Patsy - Are all your subscribers live in your area? To me blogging is not about competition, I blog primarely for business and of course help my peers along the way.
Hi Petra, not only have I noticed some people not blogging as much anymore, some of the members in my area at least have gone inactive altogether. For me, it comes and goes, I usually sit with my morning coffee to do emails and blogs on AR, but sometimes there are more pressing things going on.
Sylvia - True, sometimes there are more pressing things going on, but I just hope that these individuals are consistently blogging for business - perhaps not on AR's platform but somewhere else.
Petra good blog, and great advice. Consistency is the key.
Petra...
Right from the beginning AR has been like that. I have found most of the ones who stop blogging stop because they didn't pace themselves. They get burned out and move on to something else. I've also noticed that a lot of the ones that have disappeared are all over Twitter. Less work :)
TLW...ROAR!
Jackie - I appreciate your comment, stay consistent!
TLW - Less work, I can use that right now too. Twitter is a great tool, which I love. Blogging however, if it is here on AR, Wordpress, Blogspot or where ever is really must, in my opinion. How can you get your point across in 160 characters? Hope all is going well for you considering - are you resting comfortably?
Petra...
1. I can only mouth off with 140 (?) characters :)
2. I'm doing okay. I can stop resting now and get some exercise. Appartently, it's the best thing for me. Very good for the circulation :)
Thanks for asking Petra. You're so sweet. Next week I have Doc Apt in LakeLand. We should meet up for an early lunch? Let me know. I don't look so good right now...So no pictures :)
TLW...ROAR!
I have found also that many who stop blogging have left the business. I have called many who were on my subscriber list that stopped blogging only to find out that they are no longer active. Real sad, but as I tell them I still want to be friends and to keep in touch. No matter what business they are in, I would love to meet them when I'm in their town.
TLW - I’ve must have had a type about 140 characters, but your comment was just what I expected if you were to come back to comment :).
Where, when and what time would you want meet for lunch? – I would be thrilled to finally meet you :).
The picture thingy, I completely understand. I’m looking forward to hear from you soon. My best to BB.
Todd - Leaving the business has crossed my mind, too, I must admit; but in all honesty I would not know what to do next because this is what I love to do. Hopefully, they do stay in touch with you and you'll get to meet them.
Petra, I enjoyed your post and have become a subscriber. I have only been in the AR community since Jan 30, 2009 and I can see how blogging does take time. I am trying to post a blog twice a week and comment every day. I do hope I do not burnout, since I love meeting new friends in and out of the business.
Kathleen - First of all thank you for subscribing, I hope that you continue to enjoy my post. I think everyone deals with burnout at some point and at that time a short break may be in order. I try to post 2-3times per week. Active Rain can also be very addictive to say the least, anyways, thank you for networking, blogging and hope to meet one day.
