Lakeland FL First Friday EventsFolks had so much fun at February's Motorcycle Mania, that the organizers at Downtown Lakeland Partnership though bringing this event back. What better time than in October, the weather is cooler and Lakeland people love riding their motorcycles in the fall to be holding such an event. Motorcycle enthusiasts, families and children flock to downtown Lakeland to attend First Friday events are accustomed to the Classic Car show for the past seven years. The event starts at 6p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Move over Daytona Bikefest, here comes Lakeland FL Motorcycle Mania. A fun filled event for the whole family to enjoy:
  • Live music along the streets Bay and Kentucky
  • Motorcycles on display on Bay and Pine Street
  • 80 vendors located on Kentucky and Main Street
  • Classic Car Show on Tennessee Ave.
  • Explorations V Children's Museum open for half price 6-8pm
  • Shops and Restaurants stay open late.

You don't have to own a motorcycle to attend this event. There are so many vendors and motorcycle on display it will definitely be an exciting event to go. So bring your family and c'mon down to Lakeland and enjoy the activities filled for the whole family. Many streets are closed to accommodate the activities, plan to park in the Bay Street lot, Oak Street, or Main Street parking garage. Remember that Permit Only lots are FREE parking for the public after 5pm - take full advantage of the lots throughout Downtown Lakeland.

First Friday Lakeland FL - Back to SchoolHi kids and parents!  Downtown Lakeland is holding it's monthly First Friday event and this months theme is "Back to School".  Yes it is almost that time again to get ready but before you hit your school books come and enjoy a trivial pursuit scavenger hunt. You can pick up your game cards at any participating merchant and search for knowledge. 

To honor our Polk County educators, the shops listed below have drawings for door prizes, in addition a 5% discount on all purchases from the following merchants:

Folks that flock to downtown Lakeland to attend First Friday events are accustomed to the Classic Car show for the past seven years. This month the Downtown Lakeland Partnership wanted to include motorcycles so they extended the hours from 6-10 p.m. The sunshine state and Lakeland, FL for that matter is heaven for motorcycle enthusiasts where you can ride your motorcycle year around. "Dog Days of Summer" is one of the most visited events of Lakeland Florida's First Fridays and the Lakeland Downtown Partnership has planned "Dog Days of Summer" successfully for six years now. This free family event will be held August 6th, 2010 downtown Lakeland around Munn Park from 6-9pm.

Munn ParkThe Lakeland Downtown Partnership has done it again....coming up with great themes for First Fridays. Bicycle Night will be held June 4th, 2010 downtown Lakeland around Munn Park from 6-9pm. With every First Friday event held you can expect Art Reception, Dining, Entertainment, Classic Car Show and Stores open late.

If you happen to ride your bike around Lake Hollingsworth or cycling with your family around downtown, why don't you check out Bicycle Night and what it has in store for you:

Kentucky Avenue and pick up a tracking card at downtown Lakeland's General Store.

First Friday - Lakeland FloridaWith Lakeland’s Annual Sun ‘n Fun just around the corner, the folks of Downtown Lakeland Partnership and organizers of the Sun ‘n Fun came together in marriage for this First Friday’s event of “Sun ‘n Fun Skyward Festival” on April 2nd, 2010.

What a cool way to have an event, such as First Friday’s Sun ‘n Fun Skyward Festival filled with entertainment and excitement leading to Lakeland’s major event of the year  “Annual Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In.





Entertainment for the whole family to enjoy

 

It all starts at 6:00 p.m. and to get everyone’s attention, a pre-fly teaser above Main Street. While Kentucky Avenue, Lemon Street to Bay Street is filled with activities, Tennessee Avenue is filled with a classic car show and live music.  Speaking of live music, the USAF Rock Band is scheduled to perform at Munn Park. Hot air balloons will graze the northwest shore of Lake Mirror along Massachusetts Avenue.  At sunset, the hot air balloons will glow and have a pyrotechnic air show in the skies of Downtown Lakeland.

With past few First Friday’s being cold, rained on and canceled; I’m sure this Lakeland’s First Friday event Sun ‘n Fun Skyward Festival” will be one to remember for many years to come.  “The Sky is the Limit”. I sure would like to see in the coming years First Friday’s April theme will be “Sun n’ Fun Skyward Festival”
