Lakeland Florida – 2010 Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival
The annual Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival takes place around Lake 
Mirror and in the Downtown Lakeland Florida area on October 15 - 17, 2010. Best of all – it’s free!
This is one of my favorite events drawing a crowd of about 35,000 people wandering around Lake Mirror viewing a field of about 600 vehicles. It is considered as one of the best shows in the Southeast. There is no doubt in my mind that visiting Lake Mirror Classic will mesmerize car enthusiasts around Lakeland and the country.
This fun-filled charity event raises money for Lakeland’s area non-profit groups, such as the Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts, the First Tee, Historic Lakeland, and Lakeland Regional Cancer. More than $250,000.00 has been raised or donated helping them raise needed funds through the sale of food and beverage at the event.
The honorary chairwoman for this year’s Festival is world record holder on a closed-course for women and the first woman ever to win the1992 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of The Year – Lyn St. James
What takes place at Lakeland’s Lake Mirror Classic?
Friday, October 15th from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. there will be a free Budweiser Hot Rod Rendezvous at the Lake Mirror Amphitheater with a free outdoor concert featuring live music.
Let’s get ready to rumble! During music break, hot rods will crank up their engines for the “Hot Rod Rumble” creating their own style of music. The Hot Rod Rendezvous will benefit the Junior Achievement of Polk County
Saturday, October 16th from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. At the Lake Mirror Park and downtown Lakeland, Judged Concours d’ Elegance – “contest of elegance” for 100 selected cars in various categories.
Event Feature – Miller Racing Automobiles a pair of Miller 122 from the early 1920’s. Collector Dan Davis of Jacksonville enters a 1922 Miller 122 Indianapolis racecar. The second is a 1924 Miller 122/92 board track racer that is entered by The Collier Historic Motorcar collection.
Noon: Lunch Parade to the Lake Mirror Promenade led by Scottish bag-piper as tuxedo-clad Terrace Hotel waiters deliver lunch to Concours d’ Elegance participants.
2:00 p.m.: Parade of Classic Wooden Boats at Lake Mirror
3:00 p.m.: Awards Ceremony of Concours d’Elegance trophy presentation
Sunday, October 17
9:00 a.m. - Departure for country road tour to an undisclosed destination.
