Surviving Your Serengeti: May The Truth Be Told!
May the truth be told! I seldom read books like novels fiction or non-fiction, primarily I don't care much for books. In fact the book that I have started a few years ago, still lays next to my bed on a nightstand only to be dusted and put back. Now don't get me wrong, I do read a lot from newspaper, documents, contracts to educational books. I did notice Bob Stewart's post challenge Surviving your Serengeti but ignored after reading through some of the comments and some of the blogs until today as I came across the post of my fellow Active Rainer Silvia Dukes as she so eloquently described being a very efficient Cheetah. I was so intrigued by and immediately downloaded the first two chapters of Stefan Swanepoel's book "Surviving Your Serengeti - 7 Skills to Master Business and Life"
May the truth be told! Reading these first two chapter, I visioned myself as being part of Sean and Ashley's journey. With certainty I can relate to Sean's dilemma about being not connected to the outside fast world back in California - a very worried Sean thinking his chances in gaining another business opportunity are slim while he is away on mini vacation with Ashley. Real estate agents are entrepreneurs, like Sean, the business itself can consume me if I let it.
Reading the first two chapters are real teasers as I fantasized being part of this very same trip, looking at Mount Kilimanjaro, watching the small stampede of wildebeest and being motionless as I dreamed of watching the abundance of animals. I'm in Africa! I became intrigued by Zachariah's vast animal skill knowledge of the wildebeest endurance and Zachariah's explanation of how animal skill can relate to human core survival skill.
Curiosity got the best of me after I finished reading the teaser chapters, the need to discover my animal counter part by determining what animal am I, so I took the quiz.
May the truth be told - I am a Graceful Giraffe
Stefan Swanepoel portrays the Giraffe as grace which represents style, finesse, kindness and above all, doing the right thing - a quality that will always advance our purpose in life, no matter what it is.
Doing the right thing is certainly my trait as it has shown recently. You see, I belong to a club and recent events turned certain issues sour, so much so that the club is divided. Presently, there is no President and no Vice-President, only a Treasurer and that is your's truly. I firmly belief in the continuation of the club and so does the majority of the members. I want to do the right thing, whereby I have organized another election. I'm very optimistic that things will turn around and the club will flourish and regain it's purpose of what this club is all about.I hope you found this post useful!
