December 2011 Blogging Challenge Day 1 - Education
Continued education is so important to real estate agents. When it comes to continued education, I always think about what is important for me to freshen up my skills. Florida Real Estate License law requires real estate agent to take a total of 14 hours, which must include 3 hours of Law. My local Lakeland Association of Realtors (R) does a real good job to bring a variety of classes, such as Title Insurance, contract writing, roadmap to a successful closing, and much more.
You even can get your continued ed online. Real estate schools know when your license expires, they even reminding you by sending you the book for free and all you have to do is take the test through their school, which of course involves a fee. Once you pass the end of course exam you are done. That is one of the most boring continue ed I've ever done, it is convenient, but challenge yourself. Take courses that interest you, take courses that can help you further your business.
I am not a fan of all the designation the National Association of Realtors offer, in fact I carry only one and that is the SFR - Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource. I am a big fan of education and recently in one of my coaching sessions with Katerina Gasset, the one that I should take due to the nature of phone calls I get from adults who look into buying into 55+ communities and most of my past clients is to take the Senior Real Estate Specialists SRES.
So I looked into the program offered online through the National Association of Realtors (R) University, I signed up because it certainly will enhance my business by serving customers, such as the baby boomers (forever young) generation. Learning about resources and working with different Generations will take my SRES designation and knowledge gained to the next level. This online course has 12 modules with an end of course examination. Once I pass the end of course exam, I will also receive 11hrs toward my 14 hours continued education at no extra charge.
Start you education plan for 2012 today - make it worth while so your business will succeed.
